Avrupa'nın Global Navigasyon Uydu Sistemi: GALILEO

Europe's Global Navigation Satellite System: GALILEO

Europe's Global Navigation Satellite System: GALILEO Global Navigation Satellite Systems GNSS are the systems that determine the locations ofstationary or mobile objects on the ground, at sea, and in the air, based on precise timing and space resection technique. Presently, there are two global navigation satellite systems providing global coverage: the US Global Positioning System GPS and Russia 's Globalnaya Navigatsionnaya Sputnikova Sistema GLONASS . Both systems originatedfrom military requirements and are already funded and operated by the Departments ofDefense ofthese countries. Under civilian authority GALILEO targets civilian and commercial use andprogresses rapidly in becoming the third global navigation satellite system. in this paper, it is aimedto shed light on why a new system is necessitated in addition to the existing systems, what the composition phases of this new system are and the present status and the benefits of GALILEO system
