HYPONATREMIA ASSOCIATED WITH UNEXPECTED REASON IN THE COURSE OF CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE: A CASE REPORT
Introduction:Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an important public health problem, caused by irreversible loss of renal functions. Hyponatremia is quite common seen in CKD and is a cause of mortality and morbidity. Case:We here present a 63 year-old case who has worsening in the life quality after the pre-dialysis education programme and whom we admitted to our clinic with severe hyponatremia secondary to serious limitation of salt and calory intake and more water consumption. Conclusion:Pre-dialysis education programmes have potential benefits such as reducing the acute metabolic complications like hyponatremia and hyperkalemia. However; the affects of those education programmes are not well known in between the elderly patents.
