ÖZETHocam Ahmet Gürtaş 1940 yılında Beyşehir’de doğdu. 1952 yılınd doğdugğ yerde ilkokulu, 1960 yılında Konya’da İmam-Hatip Okulu’nu, 1964 yılında İstanbul’da Yüksek İslâm Enstitüsü’nü bitirdi. 1964 yılından itibaren uzun yıllar Konya Yüksek İslâm Enstitüsü’nde çalıstı.1982-1984 yılları arasında Diyanet İsleri Baskan Yardımcısı, 1984-1988 yılları arasında da Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı İslâm Ansiklopedisi Genel Müdürlüğü görevlerinde bulundu.1989 yılında Selçuk Üniversitesi İlâhiyat Fakültesi’ne Arap Dili veBelâgati Anabilim Dalında öğretim görevlisi olarak tayin edildi. 1994 yılında “Atatürk ve Din Eğitimi” konulu tezi ile doktor unvanını aldı.1999 yılı Kasım ayında doçent oldu. Aynı yılın son günlerinde Konya’da vefat etti.Bu yazıda Ahmet Gürtaş’ın hayatı, eserleri, faaliyetleri ve çeşitli vakıf ve derneklerde başkan ve yönetici olarak yaptığı hizmetler hakkında bilgi verilecektir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Ahmet Gürtas, $lâhiyat Fakültesi, Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı, İslâm Ansiklopedisi, Arap Dili ve Belâgati.ABSTRACTMy teacher, Ahmet Gürtas was born in Beysehir in 1940. He graduated from the primary school in 1952 in the place where he was born, from the İmam-Hatip School in Konya in 1960 and from the High Institute of Islam in $stanbul in 1964. He worked for the High Institute of Islam in Konya for long years after 1964.He worked as the Vice-President of the Religious Affairs from 1982 to 1984 and as the Directorate-General for the Encyclopedia of Islam by the Turkish Religious Foundation between 1984 and 1988.In 1989, he was appointed as a lecturer for the Department of Arabic Language and Rhetoric, Faculty of Divinity at Selçuk University in Konya. He received his Ph.D. by his thesis entitled “Atatürk and Religious Education” in 1994. Having become an Associate Professor on November 8th 1999, he ceased to live inKonya in the later days of the same year.This article is intended to provide information about Ahmet Gürtas’s life, works, activities and services as head and manager at various foundations and associations.Key Words: Ahmet Gürtas, Faculty of Divinity, the Turkish Religious Foundation, the Encyclopedia of Islam, Arabic Language and Rhetoric.
