Yok-Yer, Yersizleşme ve Yersizyurtsuzluk Kavramları Üzerine Bir Sorgulama

Bugün kapitalizmin eriştiği yeni aşamanın, üretim sistemlerindeki değişimlerin ve oluşmakta olan yeni bir küresel egemenlik biçiminin gündelik yaşamlarımıza etkileri, kendilerini en çok kent mekânlarının da bu süreç içerisinde yeniden kurulumu aracılığıyla gösteriyor. Bu ortamda son zamanlarda mekânla ilgilenen disiplinler tarafından mekân ve kimlik kavramlarının çeşitli biçimlerde ilişkilendirilmesiyle gelişen tartışmaların ise çoğunlukla baştan bir olumsuzlama içeren başka kavramlara bağlanarak sona erdiğini, “yok-yer”, “yersizleşme” ve “yersizyurtsuzluk” kavramlarının da bunların en popülerleri olduğunu gözlemliyoruz. Yer’in tasarım ve keşfe açık bir ‘oluş/olay’ olduğu görüşünden hareketle “yok-yer” ve “yersizleşme” kavramlarının olanaklı olamayacağı ve modern insanın duyumsadığı bir varoluş hali betimlemesi olan “yersizyurtsuzluk”un da üretken bir özgürleşmenin kaynağı olduğu görüşlerinden hareket eden metin bu kavramların yaygın kavranışlarına dair eleştirel bir sorgulama inşa etmeye çalışmaktadır.

An Inquiry on the Concepts of Non-Place, Placelessness and Homelessness

Today, the facts like the new developing global supremacy, the new phase of capitalism and the important changes in production forms show their effects on our daily lives through re-construction of city spaces within these processes. In this context, three of the most popular concepts for the disciplines, which are interested in space studies, are “non-place”, “placelessness” and “homelessness”. This paper takes a critical position on the common acknowledgment and understanding of these concepts. There are two main ideas. First is the statement of the impossibility of the concepts of “non-place” and “placelessness” and it is based on the conception of place as a ‘becoming/event’. And second is the statement on the meaning of “homelessness” and it is based on the conception that homelessness is an existential state that modern individual could never be escape from and it is the source of a big productive and creative freedom for him.
