Bu çalışmada, Türkiye hayvancılığının ekonomik durumu genel olarak irdelenmiş, et, süt ve yumurta gibi hayvansal ürünlerin üretim ve tüketim düzeyleri belirlenmiş, ayrıca bu ürünlerin 2000'li yıllardaki üretim projeksiyonları tahmin edilmiştir. 1984-1995 döneminde toplam hayvan varlığında sayıca yaklaşık % 17 oranında bir azalma görülmüştür. Hayvan sayısındaki azalmaya karşın, et, süt ve yumurta üretiminde artış olmuştur. 1995 yılında Türkiye'de kişi başına et tüketim miktan 23.20 kg, süt tüketim miktarı 135.11 kg ve yumurta tüketim miktarı 8.28 kg olmuştur.

In this study, the economic position of Turkish animal husbandry has been examined, the production and consumption level of meat, milk and egg has been determined, in addition; the production projection of these products in 2000 years has been estimated for Turkey. In the 1984-1995 period, total animal amount has decreased nearly 17 % but production of meat, milk and egg has increased. In 1995 year, per capita the amount of meat consumption has been 23.20 kg, the amount of milk consumption has been 135.11 kg and the amount of egg consumption has been 8.28 kg in Turkey.
