Kadınların Suç Korkuları Üzerine Nitel Bir Çalışma

Literatürde suç korkusu, toplumda gerçekleşen suçlardan zarar görme korkusu şeklinde ifade edilmektedir.. Bu kavram 1940’lı yıllardan itibaren gerek akademik alanda gerekse politik alanda dikkatleri çekmeye başlamıştır. İlk dönem çalışmaları sınırlı ve temelde bireylerin geceleri, tek başlarına oldukları zaman korku duyup duymadığını anlamaya yönelik olmuştur. Çalışmalarda kadınların, yaşlıların, etnik grupların suç korkusunu en fazla yaşayan gruplar olduğu ifade edilmektedir. Türkiye’de ise suç korkusuna ilişkin çalışmalar Avrupa ülkelerine göre oldukça sınırlıdır. Yapılan çalışmalarda genel olarak kentlerde veya kırsal kesimde yaşayan bireylerin suç korkuları ölçülmüştür. Bu çalışma ise suç korkusunu literatürle bağlantılı olarak incelemekle birlikte, kentin sosyal, ekonomik ve kültürel bakımdan1 farklı kesimlerinde yaşayan kadınların suç korkusunu araştırmayı hedeflemiştir. Bu bağlamda da kadınlarda korkuların ortaya çıkmasındaki etkenler, korkuyla baş edebilmek için geliştirilen önleme mekanizmaları, medyanın korku üzerindeki etkisi ve korkunun belirli sosyal gruplarda dışlama yaratıp yaratmayacağına ilişkin bulgular ortaya konulmuştur

A QUALITATIVE STUDY ON WOMEN’S FEARS OF BECOMING VICTIMS OF CRIME

Fear of crime means that fear of damaging from crimes that have been occured in society. Since 1940 the concept of fear of crime has been started to take attentions in the fields of politics and academics. Early stage studies were limited to understand if people fear at nights or being to stay alone. By result of studies the most influenced groups from fear of crime are determined as women, old people and ethnic groups. Studies in Turkey about fear of crime are fairly limited according to the European countries. Studies in Turkey generally people’s fear who live in city or rural area were determined. In this study fear of crime were generally determined coordinated with literature and its aim is to research fear of crime among women who live different sections of city like as economic, social and cultural. The subject like how fear of women be formed, what their effects are, their relationship with media about fear of crime, interception methods of fear and if there is an effect of fear for excluding specific groups from society
