Bu araştırmada, ülkemizde bira sanayiinde kullanılan bazı şerbetçi otlarının kimyasal bileşimleri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulardan Gallena ve Northem Brewer çeşitlerinin reçineler ve eteri yağ bakımından en zengin çeşitler oldukları, Efes Aroma ve Saaz çeşitlerinin çok miktarda eteri yağ ve reçineler içerdikleri ve Brewers Gold ve Late Cluster çeşitlerinin reçinelerce oldukça zengin fakat eteri yağ bakımından çok fakir oldukları belirlenmiştir. 

This study was carried out to determine the chemical composition of different varieties of hops used by brewing industry in Turkey. The composition of hops was dependent on the variety. Gallena and Northem Brewer varieties contained the highest levels of bitter and aroma substances. Brewers Gold and Late Cluster showed high acid but low ethereal oil contents. Efes Aroma and Saaz had high levels of aroma components and these varieties had high amounts of bitterness substances as Brewer Gold and Late Cluster did.
