Yöntem: Çalışma kapsamında 46 hastada 48 lezyona US veya BT rehberliğinde biyopsi yapıldı. 32 olguda US, 16 olguda BT rehberliği kullanıldı.

The impact of repeated US and CT percutaneous biopsy on diagnostic accuracy

Objective: In the present study, the diagnostic accuracy of percutaneous fine needle aspiration (FNA) was evaluated. Methods: US and CT guidance in 48 lesions of the 46 patients. Twenty of lesions were in liver, 12 in retroperitoneal region, 9 in kidney, 6 in lung, and one in spleen. Results: 84.3% of the initial specimens were diagnostic, however, this rate increased to 93.7% with second biopsy. Complication rate of initial percutaneous biopsy was 6.3%, and repeated percutaneous biopsy did not cause any complication. Conclusion: When performed by with US and CT guidance, repeated percutaneeous biopsy does not increase complications but the diagnostic accuracy.
