A case of orf treated symptomatically

Objective: Orf is a zoonosis that regresses spontaneously and could be treated symptomatically. It spreads to humans by contact with animals like sheep or goat. Case report: A patient applied with the complaint of a lesion on his hand and had a history of direct contact with a lamp. The clinical diagnosis was thought to be orf and symptomatic treatment was advised to the patient. After 15 days, the lesion was clearly regressed. Conclusion: In commonly encountered orf infection, the patients who have lesions on the hands could receive wrong diagnoses and different treatment protocols instead of symptomatic treatment that could lead to scars.
