Bulgular: Grup içi karşılaştırma yapıldığında başlangıç değerleri ile karşılaştırıldığında her iki grupta gerek kortikal gerekse trabeküler kemik yoğunluğunda anlamlı artışlar tespit edildi ( Kendall's W testi, p

At postmenopausal patient comparement of tibolone and calcium usage by calcium usage alone on bone mineral density

Objective: At postmenopausal osteoporosis managment the effect of Tibolone (2.5 mg/po/d) and calcium (1gr/po/d) usage on femur neck and vertebra is evaluated. Method: The study is a randomised one side blighted prospective one .Forthy-one postmenopausal patients encountered the study; 21 patients received tibolone and calcium(Group I), the rest 20 patients received calcium alone(Grup II) . At 0 th .,12., th 24., th months bone densitometry is taken. Major Findings: In both groups comparement is done inside the each groups and it's observed that bone density is increased at both femur neck and vertebral bones (Kendall's W test p<0.05 ve Wilcoxon rank test p<0.05). Increase in bone density is much more at group I than group II( p<0.05 Mann Whitney U test) Conclusion: As result usage of tibolone and calcium at postmenopausal osteoporosis management is more effective than calcium usage alone.
