Papiller tiroid karsinomlarında sitolojik bulgular

Amaç: Bu çalışma papiller tipte tiroid karsinomu vakalarında ince iğne aspirasyon biyopsisi (İİAB) ile tespit edildiği bildirilen sitolojik bulguları araştırmak amacıyla yapıldı. Yöntem: Histopatolojik inceleme ile papiller tipte tiroid karsinomu tanısı alan 8 vakanın İİAB sonuçları retrospektif olarak yeniden incelendi. Papiller tipte tiroid karsinomlarında İİAB yöntemi ile tespit edildiği bildirilen intranükleer sitoplazmik inklüzyonlar, papiller yapılar, tümöral dev hücreler, psammoma cisimcikleri, pleomorfizm, selülaritede artış, kolloid miktarında azalma, çekirdek/sitoplazma oranında artış gibi sitolojik özellikler bizim vakalarımızda da araştırıldı. Bulgular: İntranükleer sitoplazmik inklüzyonlar, papiller yapılar ve tümöral dev hücreler sırasıyla yedi, dört ve üç vakada tespit edildi. Vakalardan hiçbirinde psammoma cisimciği saptanmadı. Sonuç: İİAB yöntemi papiller tipte tiroid karsinomlarının teşhisinde uygulaması kolay ve etkinliği yüksek bir metoddur.

Cytological findings in papillary thyroid carcinomas

Objective: It was aimed to investigate cytological findings developed in the papillary thyroid carcinomas by fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). Methods: FNAB results of eight cases diagnosed as papillary thyroid carcinoma by histopathological examinations were retrospectively reviewed. Cytological findings found in other studies such as intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions, papillary structures, tumoral giant cells, psammoma bodies, pleomorfism, increased cellularity, decreased colloid amount and increased nucleocytoplasmic ratio were also observed by us. Results: Intranuclear cytoplasmic inclusions, papillary structures and tumoral giant cells were found in seven, four and three cases, respectively. There was no psammoma body in any of the cases. Conclusion: FNAB is easy and reliable method in patients with papillary carcinomas.
