Özkıyım Girişimiyle Hastaneye Başvuran Hastaların Mizaç Özellikleri

ÖZET Amaç: Çalışmamızda özkıyım girişiminde bulunan kişilerde mizaç özelliklerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya acil servise özkıyım girişimi ile başvuran 50 hasta alındı. Hasta gruplarıyla yaş ve cinsiyet açısından benzer, 50 sağlıklı bireyden oluşan kontrol grubu oluşturuldu. Hastalara DSMIV Eksen I Bozuklukları İçin Yapılandırılmış Klinik Görüşme Ölçeği (SCID-I) ve Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris, San Diego anketi (TEMPS-A) uygulandı. Bulgular: Çalışmaya alınan hastaların % 60ı (n=30) kadın, % 40ı (n=20) erkekti. Hastaların yaş ortalaması 28.7±9.8 yıldı ve % 64ü bekardı. Hasta grubunda, kontrol grubuna göre depresif, siklotimik ve anksiyöz mizaç skorları kontrol grubuna göre anlamlı olarak yüksekti. Yine hastaların % 56 (n=28) inde baskın bir veya birden fazla mizaç bulunduğu saptandı. Özkıyım girişiminde bulunan hastaların %38inde (n=19) depresif mizaç, % 24ünde (n=12) anksiyöz mizaç, % 16sında (n=8) siklotimik mizaç ve %6sında (n=3) irritabl mizaç saptandı. Sonuç: Çalışmamızda depresif, anksiyöz ve siklotimik mizaç özelliklerinin özkıyım girişimi ile yakından ilişkili olduğu göze çarpmaktadır

Temperament Characteristics of Patients Admitted to Hospital Due to Suicide Attempt

Objective: In the present study, it was aimed to examine the temperament characteristics of the patients with suicide attempt. Material and Method: Totally fifty patients who applied to the emergency unit were included into the study. A control group matched with the patient group in regard to age and gender was composed. The Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-IV (SCID-I) and Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris, San Diego Autoquestionnaire (TEMPS-A) were administrated to both groups. Results: Of the patients, 60% (n=30) were females while 40% (n=20) were males. The mean age was 28.7± 9.8 years. 64% of the patients were single. The mean scores of the patients on the items of depressive, cyclothymic and anxiety were higher than those of healthy controls. Of the patients, 28 (%69) had dominant several temperament characters. 38% (n=19) of the patients had depressive temperament while 24% (n=12) of them had anxious temperament, 16% (n=8) had cyclothymic temperament and 6% (n=3) exhibited irritable temperament. Conclusion: The present study suggests that depressive, anxious and cyclothymic temperament characteristics may be associated with suicidal behavior.
