Association between angiotensinogen T207M and factor II, factor V gene polymorphism with coronary artery disease

The relations of the angiotensinogen (AGT) T207M, Factor V and Factor II gene polymorphisms to the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD) have been investigated in only a few studies with conflicting results. We analysed the relationships of AGT T207M gene and Factor II and Factor V polymorphisms to CAD whose coronary anatomy was defined by means of coronary angiography. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and agarose gel electrophoresis tecniques were used to determine the Angiotensinogen gene and real time PCR were used to determine Factor V and II gene polymorphism. Our results indicate that the angiotensinogen T207M, Factor II and Factor V polymorphisms are not related to CAD.
