An analysis on the theories explaining foreign direct investment

The explanation of the factors that affect foreign direct investment is one of the most interesting topics. Foreign direct investment has been analyzed from different perspectives in Economics. The importance of the topic has been shown by many empirical models as a result of the efforts to describe and explain foreign direct investment. Despite variations in the empirical literature, the scarcity of theoretical explanations for foreign direct investment constitutes the starting point of this study. The purpose of the study is to bring into the economics literature in Turkey the theories on foreign direct investments that occupy an important place on both Turkey's and the world's agenda. The insufficiency of theoretical studies in Turkey on such an important, issue brings to the fore the need for this kind of a study.
