THE PRAYER RITUAL IN TERMS OF LYRICS AND COMPOSITION

The Prayer Ritual (Hymn), which is one of the important genres of Mevlevi music, is akind of work that sometimes used to be performed at the end of the rituals uponrequest. The most important quality of the Prayer Ritual, which was performed veryoften and enjoyed by the audience due to its lyrics and composition, is who itswriter and composer was.Today, in the musical notes published and the announcements made duringperformances, it is expressed that the Prayer Ritual was written and composed bySultan Veled. However, examined by the whole lyrics and the melodic structure ofthe work, it is seen that the Prayer Ritual is not a work of Sultan Veled. In this article,there is an evaluation of the lyrics and the composition of the Prayer Ritual.
