1- Komarov (Haifa) Newcastle aşı suş'u ile memleketimizde hazırlanmakta olan canlı aşının verdiği muafiyet süresi 4- 5 aylık Leghorn horozlar üzerinde araştırılmıştır.2 - Aşılamayı müteakip 48'inci saatten itibaren epruveye karşı bir mukavemetin başladığı, bunun 72'inci saatte iyice arttığı ve 6'ıncı günde tamamlandığı; aşılananların kan serumlarında ise inhibe edici antikorların ancak 6'ıncı güne doğru teşekkül etmeğe başladığı ve 12 'inci günde en yüksek titriye ulaştığı müşahede edilmiştir.3 - 6 ay evvel aşılanmış olan hayvanlar epruvelere tam olarakn mukavemet etmişlerdir. Ancak kanlarındaki Hİ titrilerinin 4'üncü aydan itibaren düşrneğe başladığı tesbit edilmiştir.4 - Revaksinasyonun 1'inci aşılamadan 4- 5 ay sonra yapılmasının en uygun olacağı kanaatine varılmıştır.

This paper deseribes the results of trials on a live vaccine againstN ewcastle Disease giving protection for a period of 6 months. Thisvaccine was prepared in Turkey by using Komarov's «Haifa NcD.;ıstrain and was applied to 4- 5 month old Leghorn male pullets by theintra-muscular route.The results obtained during the trial were as follows :1) The protection of the vaccinated birds against challeng2 startedat 48 hourse and continud to increase through 2 hourse andreached to its peak on the 6 th. day after vaccination. it was, howewer,abserved that haemagglutination-inhibition antibody in the serumof the vaccinated birds started on the 6 th. day and reaced toits peak on the 12 th. day after the vaccination.2) The protection of the vaccinated pull~ts against challange lastedfor 6 months when the trial was stopped, but the titer of haemagglutination-inhibition antibody in the serum of the vaccinated birdsstarted to decline aft·2r 4 months from vaccination Therefore, ~t is believedthat reveccination should be done during the 4th- 5 th. monthafter vaccination.
