Adaptation of the Resiliency Attitude and Skills Profile into Turkish: A validity and reliability studyAbstractThe present study investigates the validity and reliability of the Resiliency Attitude and Skills Profile into Turkish version. Validity and reliability of RASP was examined in two different samples. The first sample consisted of 423 students who continued their education in four different high schools in Mersin. The second samples consisted of 250 high school students. Both samples were composed from the high schools at Toroslar district a district of Mersin which is known for high poverty rates. In the first sample, construct validity of RASP was examined with an explanatory approach and the correlation of RASP with other resiliency scales were investigated to support its criterion validity. Findings indicated that the scale had a four-factor structure, and the total scale and its sub-scales were in accordance with other resiliency measures. A confirmatory factor analysis approach was adopted to support the four-factor structure in the second sample. Overall findings of the study has indicated that RASP has well-established validity and reliability. Key words:Resiliency, resiliency attitude and skills profile, adaptation study.
