KIRILGAN BEŞLİ EKONOMİLERİ İÇİN YAKINSAMA HİPOTEZİNİN GEÇERLİLİĞİ

Yakınsama hipotezi, Neoklasik teoriye dayanan Solow büyüme modeli temelli, göreli yoksul ülkelerin zengin ülkelere kıyasla daha hızlı büyüyeceği varsayımına dayanmaktadır. Özellikle 1980’lerden sonra bu alanındaki çalışmaların genişlemesiyle yakınsama hipotezi türlerine farklı bakış açıları getirilmiştir. Bunlardan biri de güçlü öngörülebilirliğe sahip, ülke veya bölgelerin kişi başı GSYH seviyelerini baz alan σ-yakınsama türüdür. Çalışmada kırılgan beşli ülkelerinin kişi başı GSYH’lerinin birbirlerine ve grup içindeki lider ülkeye önce topluca ardından bireysel olarak yakınsayıp yakınsamadığı, 1980-2017 örneklem dönemi için çağdaş panel birim kök testleriyle araştırılmıştır. Bulgulara göre, kırılgan beşli ülkelerinin birbirlerine yakınsamadığı belirlenmiştir. Lider ülke olarak seçilen Güney Afrika’ya ülkelerin, %5 anlamlılık seviyesinde kuvvetli yakınsama gösterdikleri tespit edilmiştir. Türkiye açısından ise hem bireysel hem de topluca yakınsama gerçekleşmiştir. Hindistan ve Güney Afrika’nın, Türkiye’ye %5 anlamlılık seviyesinde zayıf yakınsama, Endonezya ve Brezilya’nın ise %5 anlamlılık seviyesinde kuvvetli yakınsama gösterdikleri gözlemlenmiştir.
