İlköğretime geç başlamada kronik malnutrisyon insidansı
Okul eğitimine geç başlayan çocuğun, total yaşam süresi içinde alabileceği eğitim süresi kısalmaktadır. Bu uygulama tüm eğitilmiş bireylerin yaş ortalamalarını yükseltmekte, eğitimin yaşa uygunluk kavramını güçleştirmekte ve toplum eğitiminde optimal düzeydeki yararlanımı önlemektedir. Bu çalışma, kronik malnutrisyonun büyük şehirdeki okula geç başlama yaşı üzerine etkisini incelemek amacı ile yapılmıştır. 17 ilkokulda, toplam 1024 öğrenciye anket formu doldurulmuştur, ilkokul 4. sınıfa giden çocuklar arasında 10 yaşından büyük olup sınıfta kalmamış olanları yani, okula geç başlamış olanları %24.1'dir. The incidence of chronic malnutrition among the children who entered the school late
Total duration of education that a child could have throughout his/her life is shortened if he/she enter to primary school late. Such an approach could lead to a higher mean age of educated persons in a community, to difficulty in assessing appropriateness of education supplied to age, and to prevention of getting optimum benefits in public education. This study was conducted to evaluate the relation of chronic malnutrition to the age of entrance to primary school in a metropolis. A query form was filled by 1024 children in 17 schools. The ratio of the children over ten years of age and without any fail of year in the school among those attending the fourth class, was 24.1 percent. The incidence of chronic malnutrition in this group of children was 7.2 percent. On the other hand, the incidence of chronic malnutrition among the children entering the school at normal age of attendance was 2.8 percent (p<0.001). In conclusion, since the age of entrance to school life is delayed due to chronic malnutrition, there should be an educational approach on this topic
