Yaşlı Sağlığı ve Teknoloji Kullanımı

Günümüzde yaşlı nüfus artışı yalnızca gelişmiş ülkelerin değil gelişmekte olan ve az gelişmiş ülkelerin de önemli sosyo-ekonomik ve politik gündeminde yer almaktadır. Yaşlı nüfus oranının yükselmesi, kronik hastalıklardaki artış, kırsal yaşamdan kentsel yaşama geçiş, aile yapısındaki değişiklikler gibi etkenler yaşlılıkta bakım gereksiniminin daha da artmasına neden olur. Bu ve benzeri nedenlerle yaşlılıkta evde izlem giderek önem kazanmaktadır. Diğer taraftan günümüzde gelişen teknoloji yaşlı bireyin evde izleminde kolaylıklar sağlamaktadır. İnternet ve telefon gibi teknolojilerin yardımıyla bakım alacak kişi ile uzaktan erişim sağlanmaktadır. Bu derlemenin amacı; yaşlı bireylerde teknoloji kullanımının incelenmesidir.

Elderly Health and Use of Technology

Currently, the increase of elderly people has been on the important socio-economic and political agenda of not only the developed countries; but of the developing countries, as well. Factors such as rising of elderly population, increasing in chronic diseases, transition from rural life to urban life, changes in family structure cause increasing of care requirements in old age. With this reason and the other similar ones home monitoring in the old age has become important gradually. On the other hand today's evolving technology offers ease in monitoring the elderly at home. It can be provided remote access with people who take care by the help of technologies such as internet and telephone.
