İlköğretim Öğrencilerinin Okul Sosyal İklimine İlişkin Algıları Ve Etkili Faktörler

Amaç: Bu kesitsel çalışma ilköğretim öğrencilerinin okul sosyal iklimi algılarını ve etkili faktörleri incelemek amacıyla yürütüldü. Yöntem: Çalışmaya 2013-2014 yılında Salihli ilçe merkezinde rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen üst, orta ve düşük sosyoekonomik düzey üç ilköğretim kurumunda ikinci kademe 600 öğrenci alındı. Veriler Sosyodemografik soru formu ve Okul Sosyal İklimi Ölçeği ile toplandı. Primary School Students' Perceptions Regarding School Social Climate and Effective Factors

Objectives: This cross - sectional study was carried out to examine the perceptions of school social climate and related factors among elementary school students. Method: In this study, 600 secondary school students in three primary, middle and low socioeconomic level selected by random sampling method in Salihli district center in 2013-2014 were included in the study. Data were collected by using Sociodemographic form and School Social Climate Scale outside of class hours. SPSS 20.0 was used to analyze the number, percentage distributions, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis and Spearman correlation test.Results: The mean age of the students was 12.62 ± 1.11, the mean score of the school social climate scale was 3.6 ± 0.8 and the mean scores of the subscales were between 3.5 ± 0.9 and 3.6 ± 1.0. Statistically significant differences were found between the students 'perceptions of school social climate and socioeconomic status, age, gender, mother’s and father’s educational status and number of siblings, but there were no significant differences with class level and family structure. Conclusion: Students’ perception of school climate is at acceptable level. Middle school students, female students, 9 or more children in the family, students with a father who graduated from the university have the highest school climate perception. It was proposed to conduct qualitative studies on the subject and to plan activities that will improve perception in a positive way by supporting male students.
