Bu araştırmanın amacı, "İlköğretim 8. Sınıf Türkiye Cumhuriyeti İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersi öğretiminde görsel ve işitsel materyal kullanımının öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ve hatırda tutma düzeyleri üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek, öğrencilerin sürece yönelik görüşleri"ni yansıtmaktır. Araştırmada, deneysel desenlerden "Öntest¬Sontest Kontrol Gruplu Yarı Deneysel Desen" kullanılmıştır. Çalışma 46 ilköğretim 8. Sınıf öğrencisi üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler, başarı testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme forrnu ile elde edilmiştir. Deneysel çalışma için T.C. Inkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersi "Kurtuluş Savaşı" ünitesi ile ilgili 40 maddeden oluşan başarı testi geliştirilmiştir. Testin güvenirlik katsayısı KR 20 .89 olarak bulunmuştur. Araştırma sonuçları göstermektedir ki, görsel ve işitsel materyal kullanımı ile yapılan öğretim, öğrencilerin T.C. İnkılâp Tarihi ve Atatürkçülük dersine ilişkin akademik başarılarını, bilgileri hatırlama düzeylerini artırmaktadır. Ayrıca deney grubundaki öğrencilerin ünite sürecine ilişkin olumlu görüşler ifade etmeleri uygulanan öğretim sürecinin etkili olduğunu göstermektedir.

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of the use of visual and auditory material in the Primary Education 8th grade Turkish Republic Revoltuion History and Kemalism lesson and, to reflect the opinions of the students about the process. Among the experimental patterns, "Pretest-Posttest Control Grouped Semi-experimental Pattern" was used in the research. The work was carried out on 46 Primary Education 8th grade students. A achievement test of forty items was developed about the unit of "The Turkish War of Independence" of the Turkish Republic Revolution History and Kemalism lesson for the experimental practice. The reliability parameter of the test was found as KR 20.89. The results of the research shows that, the teaching carried out by the use of visual and auditory material, increases the academic success on the Turkish Republic Revolution History and Kemalism lesson and the levet of knowledge recall. Besides, the positive expressions of the experiment group students about the unit process show the efficacy of the applied teaching process.
