Bu makalede yaygın din eğitimi açısından hutbenin yeri ve önemini belirtmek amaçlanmıştır. Öncelikle yaygın din eğitimi tanımlanmış, daha sonra yaygın din eğitiminin önemli bir vasıtası olan hutbenin, özellikle cumhuriyet öncesi dönemin sınırlılıkları göz önüne alındığında ne denli önemli olduğu açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır. Hutbenin kısa bir şekilde gelişim aşamalarından bahsedilerek, daha çok II. Meşrutiyet döneminin ileri gelen yayın organları ve fikir adamlarının yazdıkları eserler çerçevesinde hutbe meselesi incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sırasında dönemin siyasi, ekonomik ve kültürel gelişmeleri de dikkate alınmıştır.

In this article, it is aimed to indicate the place and importance of the hutbes in terms of non-formal religious education. First, non-formal  religious education was defined, and then it was tried to explain how important the hutbe, which is an important means of non-formal religious education, especially when the limitations of the pre-republican period are taken into consideration. Speaking of the developmental stages of the hutbes in a short way, the issue of hutbe mostly has been examined in the framework of works written by prominent publications of the II. Constitutional era and opinion makers.
