Bir Kültepe metnine göre eski asur devrinde subartu bölgesi

Bu makalede, 1992 yılı Kültepe kazılarında ele geçirilen u-İtar arşivinde n bir belge (Kt. 92/k 386) tanıtılmaktadır. İliya adlı bir tüccarın u- İtara gönderdiği bu mektup, Eski Mezopotamya tarihinde tartışmalı bir konu olan Subartu bölgesi hakkında yeni bilgiler içermektedir. Kültepe metinlerinde daima aidiyet ekiyle geçen Subartu terimi ilk kez bu belgede coğrafî bir anlamda kullanılmıştır. Mektuptaki ifadelere göre Asurlu tüccarların bu bölgede de ticarî faaliyetler de bulundukları anlaşılmaktadır. Daha da önemlisi, bir tüccarın diğer bir tüccarı Subartuda dava edeceğini söylemesi, bu bölgede Asur kolonilerinin de bulunduğunu düşündürmektedir. Çünkü tüccarlar arasındaki davaların sadece kārum ve wabartum merkezlerinde ya da Asur şehir meclisinde görüldüğü bilinmektedir. Subartu bölgesinin 2. binyıl kaynaklarında Zagros dağlarından Amanos dağarına kadar bütün Kuzey Mezopotamyayı kapsadığı göz önüne alınırsa, metinde geçen Subartunun bu geniş coğrafyanın tam olarak hangi kısmına karşılık geldiğini tespit etmek zordur .

The subartu region according to a Kültepe text in the old assyrian period

In this article , a text from the archive of u-Itar, discovered in 1992 season of Kültepe excavations , is introduced. This text is a letter sent from a me rchant called Iliya to u- Itar and contains some new information about Subartu region which is a problematic subject in Mesopotamian history. Subartu was recorded only as nisbe in about 20 published Kültepe tablets. B ut in this letter, it was used for the first time with a certain geographical meaning. According to statements in the text it is understood that Assyrian traders were active commercially in that region, too. It is more important to emphasize that the articulation of a trader to another for suing him in Subartu makes us think that there were also Assyrian colonies in that region. B ecause it is well known that the lawsuits between the merchants could only take place in the centers of kārum and wabartum- stations or in the city assembly of Asur. If it is taken into consideration that Subartu region comprises the entire Northern Mesopotamia from the Zagros Mountains to the Amanos ranges , it is not easy to determine which part of this vast area was corresponded to the Subartu according to our text in the 2nd millennium B.C.
