Büyüyen kafatası kırıkları

Büyüyen kafatası kırıkları, leptomeningeal kistler olarak da tanımlanır. Çocukluk çağı kafa travmalarının nadir görülen bir komplikasyonudur. Görülme sıklığı % 0,05-1,6 oranında bildirilmiştir. Parietal ve parietooksipital bölgelerde daha sık görülmekte olup, 4 mm veya daha geniş lineer kırıklarda meydana gelirler. Patofizyolojisi tam olarak anlaşılamamıştır, ancak tüm hastalarda dura yırtığı saptanmıştır. Hastalar baş ağrısı, kusma, konvülzyon ile hekime baş vurabilirler. Gerçek Leptomeningeal kistlerin tedavisi cerrahidir. Ameliyatta dura defektini kapatmak zorunludur. Lineer fraktürlü hastaların fraktür iyileşene kadar yakından takip edilmesi, olası beyin hasarının erken dönemde önlenmesi açısından yararlıdır.

Growing skull fractures

Growing skull fractures are poorly understood complications of pediatric skull fractures. The incidence of growing skull fractures ranges from less than 0.05% to 1.6%. The pathophysiology and some aspects of its management are still controversial. The most frequent location of Growing skull fractures was in the parietal and parietooccipital region. Generally the patients suffered from headhache, vomiting and epileptic attacks. Every child with a skull fracture must be followed until the fracture heals
