Parameter prediction of tool life using experimental design technique
In this study, the experimental design technique was applied for the parameters which affect the tool life in turning operations. Revolution number, feed rate, material hardness and diameter were taken as input parameters. The chip amount removed from the experiment material was taken as output parameter. For this purposes, lamella graphite cast iron was used as an experimental material. Serious experiments were established on CNC lathe using ceramic cutting tools. It was concluded at the end of the factorial design technique that, revolution number and material hardness is the important parameters which affect the tool life in turning operations.
