This paper describes the basic methods applicable in the recovery of reusable materials from domestic refuse, selection of the separation methods, determination of the plant and choice of the possible circuits in accordance with the basic mineral processing knowledges. Also, design considerations, circuit development principles, evaluation of costs and future recycling options are basically presented.
