Meme Masajı ve Neonatal Mastit: Bir Vaka Sunumu

Fizyolojik meme hipertrofisi olan yenidoğan bebeklere uygulanan meme masajı girişimleri yenidoğanın cilt bütünlüğünü bozarak mikroorganizmaların yayılımını kolaylaştırmakta ve neonatal mastit klinik tablosunu orta- ya çıkartmaktadır. Bu makalede meme masajı sonrası neonatal mastit gelişen bir yenidoğan vakası sunularak, erken dönemde tanı ve tedavisi gerçekleşmediği takdirde bakteriyemi ile ciddi komplikasyonlara yol açan ve mor- talite riski taşıyan, ileri yaşlarda ise meme dokusu atrofi- sine ve kozmetik sorunlara yol açabilen neonatal mastite dikkat çekilmek istenmiştir

Breast Massage and Neonatal Mastitis: A Case Report

Breast massages applied to the newborns who have physi- ologic breast hypertrophy disrupt dermal integrity, facilita- te dissemination of microorganisms and lead to manifesta- tions of neonatal mastitis. Herein, a newborn case with the diagnosis of neonatal mastitis was presented to attract attention to the development of neonatal mastitis by bacte- remia with serious complications and mortality risk which can also lead to breast tissue atrophy and cosmetic prob- lems in advanced ages, if early diagnosis and therapy can not be accomplished
