Basic and Advanced Life Support Algorithms in Covid-19 Adult Patient

As number of pneumonia cases which were first seen in Wuhan Province in China began to increase after virus spreading across different countries like Iran, Italy and South Korea, WHO declared Covid-19 pandemia on 11 March 2020. Covid-19 symptoms were defined as dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, fatigue and body aches. It has been shown that virus spreads among humans via droplet sprays from infected humans or touching an object or surface with virus present from an infected person and then touching the mouth, nose or eyes. Considering the severity of the situation, as the cause of cardiac arrest in these cases is related to respiratory problems patients, rescuers and healthcare professionals are in great risk. Taking all of these into account, different approaches emphasizing the safety of rescuers are proposed in the updated guidelines of basic and advanced life support. This paper discusses updates on basic and advanced life support in Covid-19 cases being performed cardivascular resuscitation.
