Çanakkale Muharebeleri Türk tarihi ve Dünya tarihi açısında önemli birdönüm noktasıdır. Savaşların siyasi sonuçları yanında iktisadî ve içtimaî sonuçları da vardır. Bununla birlikte savaş sadece muharebe cephede harp ya dabirliklerin ikmali ile de değildir. Yaralanmalar, hastalıklar ve bunların tedavileride savaşın bir parçasıdır.Osmanlı Devleti savaş sırasındaki sağlık hizmetlerinin kayıtlarını tutmuştur.Özellikle İstanbul’da Hilâl-i Ahmer Cemiyeti’nin idaresindeki hastanelerinsağlık kayıtları bu açıdan çok önemlidir. Cephe gerisine getirilen bir yaralınınhastaneye girişinden hangi halde olursa olsun çıkışına kadar kaydının tutulmasıtıp tarihi ve dönemin sağlık hizmetlerinin anlaşılması açısından da ayrıcaönemli bir durumdur.
