Sanayinin en belli başh yardımcı malzemesinden biri olan ateştuglasi, bilhassa Şamot kalitenin, yurd içinden temini bugünkü ithaîât açığı ve bu maksat İçin kurjîmuş olan tesisler muvacehesinde bir zarurettir. Bu etüdün hazırlanışında gaye, yazarın iş hayatı esnasında rastladığı ve literatürde tesbit edebildiği ham madde yataklarından kısa olarak bahsederek, bu sanayi dalının, yabancı menşeli malzeme ayarında İmalât yapabilmesi için madencilikle uğra­ şanların işletme esnasında nelere dikkat etmesinin ve ne çeşit yeni ham madde yataklarının bulunmasının gerektiğini tebarüz ettirmektedir. Bu makalede zikredilenlerden başka yeni ham madde yataklarının da bulunabileceği muhakkak olup, etüdün hiç bir zaman her hususu ihtiva ettiği İddia edilemez. Bununla beraber, yurdumuzda yüksek alüminli, boksit, diaspor ve gîbsît gib i, ham madde yatakları hariç Şamot ateştuglasi imalâtının talep edeceği diğer hsr türlü ham madde kaynakları İstenilen rezerv ve kalitede mevcut olup bunlara bilhassa İstanbul ve Zonguldak havzasında rastlanmaktadır.

It is a necessity that the Refractory materials, especially fireclay qualities, which is an important Auxiliary Material of the industry must be supplied by domestic sources due to the import deficits and Refractory works established for thit purpose. In preparing this article, by mentioning shortly, the raw material deposits which was encountered for by the author either on field or in literature, it was tried to show the things mining people should consider in extracting and what sort of new raw material deposits they look for in order to be able to manufacture in this branch of the Industry, a product which is equal to the foreign made. This investigation can not be clained as complete since it is certain that there are some other deposits which was not included in this article. Newever, with the exception of deposits containing high aluminium oxide, such as bauxite, diaspore, and gibbsite, in Turkey, there are ample Raw material deposits needed '?y fire clay refractory Industry in regard to quantity and quality and these deposits are cont «.- trated especial.'1 ; in the region of Istanbul and Zonguldak.
