Mermer üretiminde oldukça büyük öneme sahip olan parametrelerin başında renk. homojenite, fiziksel ve kimyasal özellikler yanında, ayrışma yüzeylerini meydana getiren süreksizlikler gelir. Bunların önemi, levha halinde ekonomik değere sahip olan mermerlerin, belirli boyutlarda blok halinde üretilebilmesi zorunluluğudur. Bu yazıda tanıtımı yapılan yöntem ile, süreksizlik düzlemlerinin yoğun olduğu bölgelerde mermer blok verimi, üretilebilir blok sayısı, bir bilgisayar programı ile saptanmış ve sonuçlar irdelenmiştir
