Günümüzde yeraltı çalışmaları gittikçe derinlere inmektedir. Aynı zamanda kuyu dibinden çalışma yerine olan uzaklık da oldukça artmıştır. Bu durum havalandırma açısından ciddi problemler yaratmaktadır. Bu nedenle çalışma yerlerine yeterli miktarda hava göndermede karşılaşılan güç­lükleri yenebilmek amacıyla, klasik havalandırmanın yanısıra başka teknikler de geliştirilmiştir Bu yazıda, bu tekniklerden birisi olan "kontrollü kısa devre havalandırma sistemi" tanıtılmakta ve uygulamalardan elde edilen sonuçlar tartışılmaktadır.

Presently, mine workings are going deeper and deeper. At the same time, the distances from pit buttom to the workings at the boundary of mines have increased considerably. This fact creates serious problems as far as mine ventilation is concerned. Therefore, to overcome the difficulties encountered in sending sufficient amount of ventilating air to such workings, other thecniques beside classical ventilation were improved. In this paper, one of these techniques called "the controlled recirculation of mine air" is described and the results obtained from some applications are discussed.
