Esneklik (elastosite) teorilerine dayanan problemlerin çözümünde kullanılan modern ve basit bir hesap yöntemi olan Finite Element yönteminin temel esasları bu yazıda kısaca izah edilerek, kayamekaniği sahasında son yıllarda basan ile uygulanmakta olduğu örnekler verilerek gösterilmeye çalışılmıştır.

This paper briefly deals with the basic principles of the finite element method which is simply based on the theories of elasticity and is being used successfully for the solution of the problems in the field of rock mechanics, in recent years. Apractlcal and simple use of this method has been shown with a few examples.
