Kökensel Kimlik Bağlamında Kıbrıslı Türklerin Rumcaya Yönelik Dilsel Tutumları

Bu çalışma, Kıbrıslı Türklerin Rumcaya yönelik tutumlarını araştırmayı amaçlamıştır. Daha önceki çalışmalarda güvenirlik ve geçerliliği kanıtlanmış olan dilsel tutum ölçeği, Kıbrıslı Türk üniversite öğrencilerine uygulanmış ve elde edilen veriler SPSS sayısal işlemleme paket programı kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. 5'li Likert dereceleme sistemli tutum ölçeğindeki maddelere verilen, yanıtlar ölçek, altölçekler ve maddeler bazında çözümlendikten sonra yorumlanmıştır. Tüm aritmetik ortalama, ölçünlü kayma ve Ki kare değerleri dikkate alındığında, hem madde hem de ölçek ve altölçekler bazında çalışmada tutarlı bulgular elde edilmiştir. Deneklerin tutumları genel anlamda nitelikli bir olumsuzluk içermezken, altölçeklerdeki çıpa maddeleri bağlamında deneklerin hassasiyetlerinin nitelikli olarak farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır. Çalışmadaki Kıbrıslı Türk üniversite öğrencisi deneklerin Rumcaya yönelik tutumunlarının araştırmacıların daha önceki çalışmalarındaki Kıbrıslı Rum üniversite öğrencisi deneklerin Türkçeye yönelik tutumlarından çok daha olumlu ve akılcı olduğu kanısına varılmıştır

Identification of the Language Attitudes of the Turkish Cypriots towards Greek with Respect to Ethnic Identity

This study aimed at investigating the attitudes of the Turkish Cypriots towards Greek. The language attitudes scale, the reliability and validity of which were verified in the previous studies, was admin-istered to the Turkish Cypriot university students and the data ob-tained were analyzed by the use of SPSS statistical software package. The responses given to the items in the five-point Likert type attitudes scale were interpreted after they had been analyzed in terms of scale, subscales, and items. Taking all of the arithmetic averages, the stan-dard deviations, and the chi-square values into consideration, consis-tent results were obtained from the items and also from the scale and the subscales in the study. While the attitudes of the participants did not generally include anything much negative, it was determined that the sensitivity degrees of the participants varied much in the anchor items existing in the subscales. It was arrived at a view that the atti-tudes of the Turkish Cypriot university student participants towards Greek in the study were much more positive and rational than those of the attitudes of the Greek Cypriot university student participants to-wards Turkish in the previous studies conducted by the researchers.
