The Factors Which Effect The Loan Volumes in Turkish Banking Industry and Levels of Their Impacts

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the factors which effect the credit volumes in the banking sector with respect to type of banks and credit types and also to understand the most important factor in this process. As a result of the study, it has been observed that the micro variables in general are more effective than the macro ones on the credit volume and the NPL ratios, deposits, interest expenses and net interest margin are the most important factors which determine the credit volume. Another result to be kept in mind is that the factors determining the credits of the participation and deposit banks vary.
