19. YÜZYIL'IN SONLARINDA OSMANLI DEVLETİNDE ALMANYA FAKTÖRÜ

THE GERMAN FACTOR IN THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE IN LATE 1 9T H CENTURY

Germany was one of the powers in the rivalry of the European states in the Near and Middle East during the last two decades of the nineteenth century and gave new dimension to the Eastern Question, when it appeared on the scene as imperial Germany. Especially, after Bismarck's dismissal, Germany gradually abandoned its policy of restraint. After the 1880's, it actively began to get involved in the "Eastern Question." In addition to the early appearances of Prussian military reformers and agents, Germany's armaments industry, German banks, industrial firms, and railroad interests moved into the Ottoman Empire, and secured concessions, markets, and spheres of influence for themselves.1
