Endemik Cousinia iconica Hub.-Mor. (Seks.
Micromorphological, Palynological and Anatomical Properties of Endemic Cousinia iconica Hub.-Mor. (Sect. Cousinia / Asteraceae)
Cousinia iconica Hub.-Mor., located section Cousinia, is an endemic species of Turkey. This study, is conducted in order to contribute to the systematics of Cousinia, examining anatomical, palynological and micromorphological features of C. iconica species. In the anatomical studies of the C. iconica species, cross-sections are obtained from the stem, leaves and midribs, fast-green and safranine staining methods are used. The samples are taken into fixed preparation and photographs are taken. When anatomical characteristics of species are examined, it is determined that the number of cortex layer, midrib shape and the number of vascular bundles are significant. Pollen pictures are taken under light microscopy and exzine, intine, colpus and P/E measurements are performed. SEM microscopy is used for pollen surface. Pollen exzine ornamentation is determined as verrucose-perforate. In addition, morphological and micromorphological properties of the achenes are investigated and surface ornamentations are found as reticulate-striate.
