TARLA İÇİ SULAMA KANALLARININ KAPLANMASINDA BAZI TOPRAK STABİLİZAN MADDELERİN KULLANILMA OLANAKLARI ÜZERİNE BİR ARAŞTIRMA

ÖZETSon yıllarda dünyada ve ülkemizde toprakların kimyasal ve mekanik stablizasyonu ile elde edilen karışımların yeni bir yapı malzemesi olarak kullanılması çalışmalarına oldukçaönem verilmektedir. Bu araştırma topraklara katılan bazı stabilizan madlerinin toprakların fiziksel, kimyasal ve su geçirme özelliklerine etkisi ile bu maddelerden elde edilen karışımların sızma kayıplarım azaltmak için tarla içi sulama kanallarmıda ekonomik kaplama malzemesi olarak kullanılabilirliğini saptamak amaciyle yapılmıştır.A RESEARCH ON THE UTILIZATION OF SOME SOIL STABILIZERS FOR LINING THE FARM IRRIGATION DITCHESConservation of the irrigation wateris one of the important problems inagriculturally developing countries. Liningthe irrigation canals, decreasesseepage losses and increases covayaııceefficiency; hence it advances economicaluse of irrigation water.Taking into the cosideration abovementioned ideas this study is conductedto determine an economical liningmatt.rial which is suitable to regionalconditions and easily obtinable fromthe vicinity to prevent seepage lossesin the irrigation projects. For thispurpose 6 soHs having different textureand Atterberg timits;ıs a base materialamong" the 17 soil samples taken fromthe diffierent parts of the AtatürkÜniversitesi Ziraat Fakültes: ExperimentFarm. Variying methods wereemployed to determine mechanical,physical and chemical properties ofthese six soils. Cement, lime, bituminous(emilkote) emulsion asphaltand used engine oil were used assoil additives to stabilize the soiI.These additives were mixed in differentration and five samples were takenfor each mixture.Soil miıı;tures prepared with differentadditives mentioned abov~ aretested for compression and durabilityand freezing -thawing in the laboFatory.Additionally these materials are testedin the field using model canals forseepage losses. Following conclusion. is drawn by using the data obtainedfrom the tests mentioned above.- Most of the soils used in thisstudy have common gradation accorctingsieve analysis.- Atterberg Limits for the soHstested which are used as criteriain engineering soit classification differaccording to amount of clay andsilt present in the soiI. Liquid limitvalues are between 24,7 % and 31,3plastic index vaIues are between 4% and 15 %. These figures give informationabout the water content ofthe soils at their liquid limits.--:- The soil used a materialın this study classified according toA. A. S. H. O dasification syste~.SoiI number 1 is A-I-a (O), number2 is A-2-4 (O), number 3 is A-6(2)number 4 is A-2-6(0), number 5 isA-6(6) and muber 6 is A-4 (I).- The prepared mixtures tested forfreezing thawing, wetting-drying in thelaboratory. The material is going to tobe used as a lining material for the canalsin the field is determined according tothe results obtained from the testsmentioned above. Freezing-thawing testswere in twelve period. The minimum10st in fereezing-thawing test wereobserved at number 2 plastic cementmixture (3 % ) and maximum loostat number 17 soil-cemet-lime mixture(29 X).The minimum lost in wetting-drawingtests were observed at number 2soileement mixture and maximum lostat number 8 soil-bituminous mixture(51 %).Plastic soil-cement mixture whichis prepared with the soil number 2(having plastic inde 6 and 19 %passes under sieve number" 200 by
