Öz ÖZET17. yüzyıl başında Osmanlı tahtına çıkan Sultan I.Ahmeddevrinin belli ba~lı olayları, İran ve Avusturya sava~ıarı ile Celaliisyanlarıdır. Bununla beraber, denizlerde de önemli faaliyetlerdebulunulmuş, ülkeyi çevreleyen denizlerde 16. yüzyılda kurulanhakimiyet ve sağlanan emniyet devam ettirilmeye çalışılmıştır.Runun için Osmanlı donanması hemen her sene Akdeniz'de sefereçıkmış ve hayli mühim ınuharebelerde bulunmuştur, imparatorluksahillerine taaıTUZ eden İspanya, Toskana, Malta ve F10ransagemileri ile mliteaddit çarpışmalar olmu~; zaferler kazanılmış,mağlubiyetler alınmıştır. Karadeniz'de de Kazakların Sinopbaskını lizerine bir sefer düzenlenmiştir. Bütün bu faaliyetler,donanmanın durumu, başarı ve başarısızlıkları bu makaleninkonusudur.
