Öz Öz: Günümüzde en çok haksızlığa uğratılan, en çok eleştirilen kişilerden birisi deİdris-i Bitlisî’dir. İdris-i Bitlisî araştırıldıkça, eserleri günümüze çevrildikçe, bu kişi dahaiyi anlaşılacak, onun hakkında bazı kesimlerin önyargılı olduğu, ona iftiralar atıldığınınfarkına varılacaktır. Oysa İdris-i Bitlisî Osmanlıya ve bu millete yaptığı hizmetlerdendolayı kötülenmeyi değil, övülmeyi hak eden kişidir.O bir komutan, bir şair, bir tarihçi, bir seyyah, yeri geldiğinde bir önder olmuştur. 16.yüzyılda Avrupa veba hastalığından kırılırken İdris-i Bitlisî, Veba Hastalığı ve korunmaYolları adlı eser kaleme alınmıştır. Yine iki cilt halinde yayınladığı Hayvanlar Ansiklopedisiisimli eseri günümüze bu alanda ışık tutmaktadır.O bir ömre sığdırdığı eserlerle, bu millete yaptığı hizmetlerle yücelmiş, her türlü övgüyühak etmiştir.İdris-i Bitlisî’nin eserlerinin günümüz Türkçesine çevrilmesi hem onu daha iyi anlamamızıhem de eserlerindeki bilgilere vakıf olmamızı sağlayacaktır.Anahtar Kelimeler: Akkoyunlu, Bitlis, Hatime, II. In fact, Idris-i Bitlisî deserves to be praised, not tobe defamed.Idris-i Bitlisî was a commander, a poet, a historian, a voyager and a leader in hislife time. Mevlânâ Idris wrote a piece of work titled Black Death Disease and Ways ofPrevention in the16th century, while Europe was struggling with the Black Death outbreakin.
