Nazogastrik sonda uygulaması sonrası gelişen tek taraflı vokal kord paralizisi (olgu sunumu)
Nazogastrik (NG) sonda uygulanması nedeniyle nadir de olsa rekürren laringeal sinir yaralanmasına bağlı vokal kord paralizisi gelişebilmektedir. Bu olgu sunumunda abdominal cerrahi öncesi NG sonda uygulanan, postoperatif 1. günde ses kısıklığı ve boğaz ağrısı gelişen, videolaringostroboskopik incelemede sağ vokal kord paralizisi tanısı konan bir erkek hasta sunulmaktadır. NG sonda uygulanması sonrası vokal kord paralizisi olguları nadir görülse de, NG sonda uygulanmasının yararları yanında potansiyel riskleri de göz önüne alınmalı ve zorlayıcı girişimlerden kaçınılmalıdır.
Unilateral vocal cord paralysis following nasogastric tube insertion (case report)
Nasogastric (NG) tube insertion may, on rare occasions, cause vocal cord paralysis due to recurrent laringeal nerve injury. We reported the case of a male patient who developed hoarseness and throat pain on the first postoperative day following NG tube application before an abdominal operation. Videolaryngostroboscopic evaluation revealed right vocal cord paralysis. He recovered almost completely after twelve weeks. Although there have been few reports concerning vocal cord paralysis following NG tube insertion, potential risks should be taken into account alongside its benefits. Avoiding forced manipulations may prevent unfavorable results.
