Alternative techniques to general anesthesia

Quite effective nerve block techniques can be used in various surgical interventions to assess a better surgical area, intraope- rative and postoperative analgesia. Nerve blocks done by experienced people after a good clinical evaluation provide early mobi- lity with enough pain management, reduce the duration of hospitalization, unanticipated hospital admissions and health expenses. Peripheral and neuroaxial nerve blocks are going to be more preferred anesthetic techniques with the development in equipments and block techniques and the use of more ideal local anesthetics.
