Stomanın cinsel yaşam üzerindeki etkileri

Bireylerin sağlıklı ve üretken yaşama dönmelerine yardımcı olabilmek, daha uzun süre kaliteli bir şekilde yaşamalarını sağlamak ve altta yatan patolojiyi iyileştirmek için oluşturulan stoma, aynı zamanda fiziksel, sosyal, bilişsel ve duygusal açıdan sorunlara da neden olabilmektedir. Bu süreçte cerrahinin, kemoterapi ve radyoterapinin yan etkilerinin yanı sıra stoma, bireyde beden imgesinde bozulma, kendini çekici hissetmemeye neden olarak, cinsel yaşamı olumsuz olarak etkilemekte, cinsel işlev ve istek kaybı görülebilmektedir. Bu derleme makale; stomalı bireylerin cinsel yaşamlarının nasıl etkilendiğinin, cinsel işlev bozukluklarının (CİB) ne oranda görüldüğünün incelenmesi amacıyla planlandı.

Effects of stoma on sexual life

Stoma, which is used in order to help individuals return their healthy and productive life, to help them live their lives in a more qualified way, and to improve the underlying pathology, may cause physical, social, cognitive and emotional problems, at the same time. In addition to side effects of surgical operations, chemo and radiotherapy; stoma also causes deterioration of the body images in individuals, the feeling of not being attractive; therefore, it affects sex life, causes dysfunctions therein and decreased desire thereto. The aim of this review article is to examine the sex life of individuals with a stoma, to see how it is affected, and to study the level of sexual dysfunctions.
