Current approaches and evidence based practices in female sexual dysfunction management

Female sexual dysfunction is defined generally as psychophysiological disorders characterized by decreased sexual interest/arousal, orgasmic disorder, and pain during sexual intercourse. It is a multi-factor problem that causes economic, psychological, interpersonal difficulties for women and has negative consequences on all aspects of life. Due to the diversity of its etiology, a standard treatment is not available. In order to determine the direction of treatment, the underlying causes should be examined and the most appropriate treatment should be decided within the framework of evidence based practices. This review aims to examine current approaches and evidence based practices used in the management of sexual dysfunction in women.
