Time in ancient time, conial sundials and smintheion sample

Human being of ancient age observed movements of the sun thence measured the period during which the sun remained in sky meaning daytime by means of sundial. Sundials have been gradually developed in line with development of astronomy, mathematic and mathematical geography and usage field there of have been gradually developed also. Thanks to sundials, day time has been divided into twelve equal slices thus people have been able to measure their times. This is the part of the half circle and cone-shaped sundial in filler material from "reservoir" during Smintheion excavations in 2007. This is an example that showing the time between sunrise and sunset. Placing to the South is one of the basic rules. It is form of the half-circle sundial used in the Ancient Period. It shows the time frames according to 12 hours practice only as a result of the movement of the sun on day.
