The effect of nitrogen application at different growing periods on some agronomic traits in sunflower

Different levels of nitrogen (0; 0,50; 0,75; 2,25; 3,0 g/saksı N) at different growing periods (flowering and head establishment, grain filling, maturity and harvest) were applied to the plants grown in pots at greenhouse conditions. Cv. Olga was used in the study. Plant height, head diameter and head yield characters were determined. Based on the results, it can be concluded that plant height reduced significantly with the first level of nitrogen application (0,50 g/sakst N). While head diameter and head yield increased considerably. Other levels of nitrogen application have not affected traits studied in sunflower dramatically.
