Bu çalışma, paclobutrazol uygulama yöntemi ve dozlarının Antalya yöresindeki golf sahalarında yoğun olarak kullanılan Lolium perenne 'Ovation' ve Cynodon dactylon x Cynodon transvaalensis 'Tifway' çim çeşitlerinin büyüme özelliklerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma iklimsel koşullar ve çeşitlerin özellikleri dikkate alınarak farklı dönemlerde iki ayrı deneme şeklinde yürütülmüş ve her iki çeşide topraktan ve yapraktan olmak üzere 0 (Kontrol), 50 ve 100 g- $da^{-1}$ dozunda paclobutrazol uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar, paclobutrazolun L prenne 'Ovation'da uygulama yöntemleri arasında önemli farklılık olmaksızın bitki boyu, boğum arası uzunluğu, yaprak boyu ve eni ve kök uzunluğu değerlerini doz artışına bağlı olarak önemli ölçüde azalttığını, renk sıkaia değerleri üzerinde etkili olmadığını, kardeşlenmede ise yapraktan yapılan uygulamalarda sürgün sayının doza bağlı olarak arttığını ortaya koymuştur. C. dactylon x C. transvaalensis 'Tifway' çeşidinde ise bitki boyu, boğum arası uzunluğu, yaprak boyu ve kök uzunluğu değerleri genelde paclobutrazol doz artışına bağlı olarak azalmış, buna karşın yaprak eni, renk sıkaia değeri ve stolon boğum arası uzunluğunun paciobutrazol uygulama yöntemi ve dozlarından önemli düzeyde etkilenmediği saptanmıştır
This study was carried out to determine the effects of application methods and doses of paclobutrazol on growth characteristics of Lolium perenne 'Ovation' and Cynodon dactylon x Cynodon transvaalensis 'Tifway' which have been used extensively for golf courses in Antalya (Mediterranean coastal part of Turkey). The study was coriscracted in two separated experiments in different seasons with considering climatic conditions and culture requirements of cultivars and doses of paclobutrazol at 0 (control), 500 and 1000 $g-ha^{-1}$ were applied to plants as soil drondı or foliar spray. In I. perenne 'Ovation', paclobutrazol significantly reduced plant height, intemode length, leaf length and width and root length with increased doses, without significant differences between application methods. Tiller numbers per plant increased when doses were applied as foliar spray and paclobutrazol had no effect on scale values of visual above-ground color. In C. dactylon x C. transvaalensis 'Tifway', plant height, internod length, and leaf and root length decreased with increased doses of paclobutrazol, while there were no significant differences originated application methods or doses in leaf width, scale values of visual above-ground color and internode lengths on stolons.
