THE ROLE OF INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES IN THE RELATION BETWEEN TRANSFORMATIONAL/TRANSACTIONAL LEADERSHIP PERCEPTIONS NND ORGANIZATIONAL IDENTIFICATION

Öz This study examines the relationship between transformational / transactional leadership perceptions and organizational identification and further explores the role of individual difference variables such as separateness-connectedness self-schema, and positive and negative affectivity. Data from 213 employees indicated a positive effect on organizational identification for both transformational and transactional leadership. Regarding individual differences, the positive relationship of transformational leadership and organizational identification was stronger for individuals of separated self-schema whereas the positive relationship of transactional leadership and organizational idendfication was stronger for individuals of connected self schema. In addition, the relationship between transformational / transacdonal leadership and organizational idendfication was found to be stronger for individuals with high positive affectivity
