Method Differentiation From Political Economics to Mathematical Economics: Are Archers Being Replaced by Gunners?

The adventure of advancing economics toward becoming a natural science is discussed in this study, as is the process of evolution from political economy to mathematical economy in light of the philosophical, political, and economic developments that resulted in the shift of economics' dominant paradigm. Following an overview of classical political economy, the historical process by which mathematics and statistics find their place in economics, a social science, is examined, as well as the theses and instruments that bolster their position. Recent discussions have included concepts such as agent-based modeling and complexity economics, which aim to improve the science of economics' results. As the study's focus on economic methods, it concluded that an excessive reliance on mathematical models to the point where economics is divorced from social realities indicates a risky and dangerous situation. The central issue is not the type or weight/composition of the mathematical method used in economic analysis, but rather the issue of mathematics becoming a goal rather than a tool. The study concludes that by establishing a strong collaboration and interaction with diverse disciplines such as mathematics, history, philosophy, and sociology, the science of economics will gain a more detailed structure.
